Subscribe via RSS
RSS is a way to subscribe to websites without giving away your email, creating an account, or being at the mercy of an algorithm. Your feed reader checks for new posts and shows them to you. Simple, private, chronological. The way the internet should work.
Recommended Feed Readers
- NetNewsWire — Free, open source, Mac/iOS. My pick.
- Feedly — Web-based, polished, free tier available.
- Inoreader — Powerful, great search, web + mobile.
- Miniflux — Self-hosted, minimal, fast.
Why RSS Still Matters
Algorithms decide what you see on social media. Newsletters live in inboxes you already dread opening. RSS is a direct line: I write something, your reader shows it to you. No ranking, no engagement optimization, no "we thought you'd like this" emails. Just the posts, in order, when they're published.
It's the most respectful way to follow someone's writing online. I wish more people used it.
